Landmark On The Refurbished Flon District

The FLON building is located right in the city centre of Lausanne/Switzerland and acts as a landmark on the refurbished Flon district.The building with its unique designed triangular cushion facade (by architect Brauen & Wälchli) is intended to host high level commercial shops. The facade is build up from a 4-layer cushion with three air chambers and two different internal pressures. The outer layer is made from PTFE-coated glass fabric, the three inner layers from ETFE due to light requirements. The triangular cushions will be illuminated from the inside during night time.
