The Dome

The “Aqua Dome” is Austria’s most modern wellness facility and lies in the Ötztal valley in the heart of Tirol. The cylindrical shaped membrane at the apex of the dome attracts attention not only during the day, but also, due to the high translucency of the membrane and the illumination system between the fabric and the primary concrete substructure, as a beacon at night. The 55m² membranes was manufactured in one piece and is mechanically fixed to two 5m diameter stainless steel rings. The fabric itself is a PVC-coated polyester membrane with a translucency of 14%.
