H2CC Hydrogen Gas Station

Hydrogen Competence Centre
The architectural challenge was to design the prototype of Competence Centre with showroom, test stand and workshop for current hydrogen technology as well as a filling station for hydrogen driven vehicles. Three rings of 12m diameter form the simple steel structure. The rings are covered with double layered ETFE-Foil-membranes creating air and cable net lenses. To avoid overheating by sunlight the outer ETFE layer was printed with reflective silver dot fritting. The air supply pipes to the cushions are fully hidden within the steelwork. The futuristic roof design and colouring have potential to evolve into a brand mark for Linde hydrogen filling station chain.
